Saturday saw the National Training Squad in action at the Princess Pholile Sports Ground in Malkerns. Twenty six players turned out for the training session in preparation for the up and coming test match against Botswana scheduled for the end of June. "The players are tired from last nights Inyeti 7's, but I must compliment all fo them for turning out this morning. We do not have the luxury of time on our side therefore we must get the sqaud togther as often as possible if we are to do well in Gabarone" said Rugby Union President, Michael Collinson.

The Swaziland Rugby Union have announced their intention to hold national squad rugby training over the next three month in preparation for the up and coming Test Matches against Botswana in June and August. Head of Coaching Naomi du Pont made the announcement today at the rugby union offices. "The Malayisha National Rugby League was completed on Saturday, so now we can concentrate on national training and preparing the squad for Botswana"

The Swaziland Rugby Union have received an invitation from the newly formed Lesotho Rugby Union to play a friendly fixture in May. Rugby Union President Michael Collinson made the announcement today at the Rugby Union offices in Malkerns. "We have been in contact with the LEsotho Rugby Union and they are very keen to play a side from Swaziland. We have the dates for the fixture and we will be holding coaching days to select a side" said Collinson.

The Swaziland Rugby Union will be holding a National Squad Training Session on Saturday April 16th at the Kwaluseni Sports Ground. All selected players will be contacted and invited to attend the training session.

The Rugby Union held the first National Trials on Saturday in preparation for the up and coming CAR D Division Rugby Tournament to be held in Arusha Tanzania at the end of June. Fifty two players from the rugby clubs within Swaziland turned out for the trials. Head Development Coach Naomi du Pont welcomed the players to the trials and thanked them for making the time and to being committed to playing for Sizeze the National Team.

The Rugby Union has called upon all players who wish to play for Sizeze the National 15's side to attend the first National Team training session on Saturday April 2nd. The training session will take place at the Kwaluseni Campus Sports Ground at 9am.

The Inter Varsity Games played between, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland kicked off today at 3pm in Malkerns home of the Vondo's Rugby Club.  The first game will see the hosts Swaziland up against arch rivals, Botswana.  Swaziland Rugby Union Vice Chairman, Sibusiso Nkambule met with all three teams before the kick off of the first game and wished them all "Good luck"  The second game will be played tomorrow with Botswana taking on Lesotho and the final game will be on Wednesday with Swaziland up against Lesotho.
