Wolves U/19's players in actionThe Rugby Union coaches made the trip to Bhunya to hold the U/19's Elite training sessions at the Bhunya Stadium home of the Wolves Rugby Club.  Wolves Club chairman, Bonginkosi Dlamini attended the training session and welcomed both the development coaches and players.

Players at the U/19's Elite Training Session at the Elephants Rugby clubThe U/19's Elite Squad Training moved to the Emcozini Sports Ground, home of the Elephants Rugby Club on Tuesday.   Naomi du Pont welcomed the players and thanked them for attending the session.  "Today we are here to select potential players to join

Rugby Development Coach, Naomi du Pont announced the training schedule for the U19's Elite Squad at the Union's offices today.  "The Development Coaches will be holding coaching sessions at fourteen Clubs throughout the country over days over seven days.  Following each training session will invite selected players to join the U/19's Elite Squad.  We are looking to build a squad of +/- forty players, but if there are more good players who deserve a place in the sqaud, then this number will be increased' said du Pont.

 

 

 

Mario De SousaHead Development Coach at the Swaziland Rugby Union, Mario De Sousa has been named as Head Coach for the U/18's side which will take on their Botswana counterparts in September.  De Sousa thanked the SRU Executive for having the confidence in him as a Coach and assured them he will do everything in his power to give Swaziland a victory.

The Swaziland Rugby Union will be playing hosts to the Botswana U/18's side later in the year.  Union President, Michael Collinson confirmed that the International Rugby Board had contacted the Swaziland Rugby Union and asked if we would be willing to host an U/18's match later in 2009 against Botswana.  We readily agreed to the game and hosting Botswana.  We have a good up and coming U/18's side and we want see them them in action as much as possible, said Collinson.  The date for the U/18's fixture is yet to be confirmed.

U/19's Kyle Holmes chasing down Ronnie GamedzeThe U/19's and U/16's Elite Training Squads held a joint training session on Saturday with fifty eight players participating. Swaziland Rugby Union President, Michael Collinson was on hand to welcome the players to the training session and thanked them for making the journey to Malkerns.

 

The weekend saw six teams take part in the Elephants Rugby Club Inter Schools Tournament held at the Khupuka Primary sports field. The six participating teams were, Khupuka High, Lamawandla High, Dlalasile High, Lutfotja Primary, Ekutsimuleni Primary and Dlalasile Primary. The Tournamnet was held to determine the Elephants Rugby club Schools Champions at U/16's and U/14's.

Scorpions U/16's TeamThe Scorpions from Siselweni took the U/16's Junior Club Rugby Tournament held on Saturday beating the Rhino's from Manzini 15-10 in a hard fought final played in Malkerns.
