The British Empire MedalIt was announced this week that Swaziland Rugby Union President and SKRUM CEO Michael Collinson has received the British Empire Medal ffrom Queen Elizabeth II in the Queens birthday honours list. "I'm as shocked and surprised as anyone to be recognised by Queen Elizabeth II.

.The U/19's TOP16 Inter Schools 7's Rugby Tournament will kick off this month. Twenty four schools have applied to play in this years TOP16. The preliminary games will start next week and from there the four pools will be announced.

The SRU announced today that the U/19's 15's side will be in action in July playing against four visiting UK schools. Head of Coaching and Development Michael Dos Santos made the announcement yesterday. The four schools will be. Woodhouse Grove, Pocklington, John Fisher and Kings School Worcester. "We will start training in the coming weeks. The four games will be tough, but I know the players are up to the challenge" said Dos Santos.

Will and Tom CounsellThe SRU welcomed SKRUM volunteers Tom and Will Counsell to Swaziland this week. Tom and Will who are from Deveon will be here in Swaziland for a month volunteering with SKRUM and working with the Schools Rugby Development Programme.

.SRU President Michael Collinson announced the launch of a new 7's rugby tournament to be played in Swaziland. The Seven7's will be played on a monthly basis with all the clubs within the kingdom participating. "The Seven7's will be played on the same format as the World Rugby 7's series.

The Swaziland national side Sizeze Eswatini went down 13-10 in a hard fought World Rugby sanctioned Test Match. The game was played in Maseru, Lesotho. This was the third time the two countries had met. Sizeze Eswatini captain Michael Dos Santos said "Lesotho were better on the day. We had most of the ball, but couldn't convert possesion into points. We know where we went wrong and we know what we have to work on" The two unions will hopefully meet again later in the year in a game to be played in Swaziland.

Michael Dos Santos with the rugby balls donated by Marlborough CollegeThe SKRUM Programme were given a very big shot in the arm this week when they took delivery of rugby balls donated by Marlborough College. The balls are branded with the Marlborough College logo and the SKRUM logo.

SKRUM volunteer Sam Windsor-LewisSam Windosr-Lewis is the latest SKRUM volunteer to worrk with the SRU's Schools Rugby Development Programme. Sam will be in the Kingdom for four weeks volunteering with the SKRUM Programme.

The participants at the World Rugby Level I Referee's WorkshopThe SRU held a World Rugby Level I Referee's workshop last week. World Rugby Referee Educator, Burton Hufkie facilitated the workshop. Seven participants attended the workshop held in Manzini.

The UNISWA Titans with the MNRL trophyThe UNISWA Titans were crowned the MNRL 2014/2015 champions after beating big rivals the Eagles on Saturday. The last game of the MNRL season was to be the decider for both clubs. The winner of the final game wwould lift the MNRL trophy and it was the Titans who took the honours.
