Rangers take first Club Tag Rugby Tournament

A Rangers player on the attack in the final against the LionsThe first Adult Club Tag Rugby Tournament took place over the weekend at the Luyengo Sports Ground home of the Titans. Six Clubs from around Swaziland participated in the tournament. The Rangers who joined the Swaziland Rugby family in July totally surprised everyone with great running and ball skills.








The six participating Rugby Clubs were, The Rangers, Vondo's, Elephants, Lions, Likima and Ngwazini. Rugby Union Vice President Sibusiso Nkambule welcomed the teams and thanked them for making the effort to travel so far to take part in the Tag Tournament. "The Rugby Union are pushing adult Rugby within Swaziland and with this in mind it was decided that Adult Tag Rugby Tournaments will be held on a regular basis to introduce the game of Rugby too adult who are interetsed in the sport. As you learn more about the game and gain confidence, it is hoped adults, both male and female will then make themove to full contact. But we at theRugby Union realise this move from Tag to contact can not be made overnight, hence this is why you are here today. Enjoy the Rugby experience and good luck to all of you" said Nkambule.
