Thursday saw the Swaziland Rugby Union's U/19's Squad take on visiting team St Josephs College from Ipswich in the UK. This was the first game for the newly formed U/19's Elite Squad and it was to be a true baptism of fire for the Swazi's. St Joseph's College who are touring Southern Africa arrived in the country on Wednesday after playing in Middelburg seemed confident and ready for action.
The U/19's have held five practice sessions before this game were confident, but realistic about their chances. Team Captain Wilson Dlamini said the side was ready for St Joseph's but we know it will be a great lesson for all of the players. "St Joseph's College is a good rugby school and they have allot more experience than we have, but we will take the game too them and not make it easy" Rugby Union President Michael Collinson said "We are looking forward o seeing the U/19's in action. It is a difficult first game for the U/19's, but they will experience rugby at a high level and one the whole team must aspire to play at. We asked the team if they were up for the game and I'm pleased to say every player was keen and ready to play"
