Vondo's & Scorpions Teachers teams (Vondo's in red)
The last Rugby game of 2009 took place in Nhlangano last week.  The Scorpions Rugby Club Teachers side from Nhlangano took on the Vondo's Rugby Club Teachers side from Malkerns.  The game was played at the SOS Childrens Village sports field.

The Vondo's made the long drive down to Nhlangano as the only Club in the Teachers League to be undefeated in 2009 and at the moment the one team everyone wants to take down.  Scorpions Player/Coach, Thulani Nkomo said before the game that today would be the day the Vondo's ended their winning run.  Vondo's Coach, Thabo Mzamo was full of confidence on the one and a half hour drive down to Nhlangano and felt the Vondo's were at their peak and playing their best Rugby.

Both teams took to the field on a perfect day for Rugby.  The first half saw each team trying to run the ball from anywhere on the park, but it was to be the Vondo's who put the first points on the board and very much dominate every aspect of the game.  When the half time whistle blew it was the Vondo's going into the changing rooms 35-5 up.  Hard words could be heard from both Coaches during the break and it was a seemingly a new Scorpions team which took the field for the second half. But it was to be the Vondo's again who out played the Scorpions and ran in some impressive tries to end the game winners by 55-15.  Scopions Coach Thulani Nkomo thanked the Vondo's for making the trip down to Nhlangano and said his team were taught a lesson in Rugby today by a far better team.  Thabo Mzamo, Coach of the Vondo's thanked the Scorpions for their hospitality and sportsmanship.
