Vondo's scoring the winning tryThe Teachers team from the Vondo's Rugby Club lifted the winners trophy at the Teachers Inter Club Rugby Tournament held at the Vondo's ground in Malkerns.  The tournament was the first of its kind and following on from the final, Rugby Union President, Michael Collinson said he was delighted with the turn out and how well the teachers played.

Having discussed the tournament and the committment of the teachers with Union Vice President, Sibusiso Nkambule, we have decided to hold a Teachers Inter Club Rugby Tournament every three months. "It is vitally important that the teachers are actively involved with Rugby as they will be the driving force behind the development of the game at their schools.  With this in mind we decided to get the teachers involved and play in a tournament of their own at Club level and I'm pleased to say the teachers have shown great enthusiasm in not only coaching, but also in playing Rugby" added Collinson.  The tournament was a hotly contested affair with all the teams giving their all.  But it was to be the Vondo's up against the Kudu's in the final with old coaching rivals Thabo Mzamo of the Vondo's and Sibusiso Nkambule of the Kudu's battling it out.  The pool stages saw the two teams meet and it was to be the Vondo's winning a shocking 70-15.  The Kudu's were not about to let that happen again and stern words from Nkambule seemed to spur the Kudu's into action.  The half time whistle saw the Kudu's going in 20-5 up.  Mzamo made good use of the half time break and the Vondo's came out firing and scored an amazing try from the kick off.  It seemed to be one way traffic from there with the Kudu's scoring only one more try to the Vondo's five.  Seemingly neither side brought their kicking boots as not one try was converted!!!  Final score 30-25.The runners up The Kudu'sMliba Bulls on the attack against the Vondo'sVondo's player hitting the gapVondo's on the breakThe winning team The Vondo's
