Posted in:

Edenpark (in green) & The Rhino'sVisiting side from South Africa, Edenpark Rugby Club lifted the trophy at the Inyeti 7s played last night at the Vondo's Rugby Club ground in Malkerns.

The tournament kicked off with the winners of last months Inyeti 7s tournament, the Rhino's against visitors Edenpark. The game started fast and furious and didn't slow down for the whole game.  Edenparks speed proved to much for the Rhino's and came out easy winners by 40-0.  Edenpark were also too strong for the other teams and made it through to the final undefeated.  The Rhino's also took out the opposition on their road to the final only losing the first game to Edenpark.  The tournament also attracted a side from Maputo who are regular visitors to Swaziland and have played in previous 7s tournament.  The final saw the Edenpark side again using their pace to make space and then out run the Rhino's.  The Rhino's tried to play a physical game, but Edenpark were having none of it and moved the ball out wide to the super fast wingers.  The final whistle saw Edenpark put 31 points on the board to the Rhino's 0. Rugby Union President, Michael Collinson thanked the teams for participating in the tournament and a special thanks went to the teams from South Africa and Maputo.  This has been a marvellous tournament, played in the true spirit of Rugby and we look forward to the next Inyeti 7s tournament in May, said Collinson.
