Mahlanya PrimaryThe Vondo's Rugby Club held their U/14's Inter Schools Rugby Tournament on Wednesday.  The three schools participating in the tournament were Mphetseni, Mahlanaya and St Andrews.  The tournament kicked off at 1pm and all three schools brought plenty of supporters to cheer them on.

The first game of the day was to see Mahlanya up against St Andrews.  Both teams were excited before the game and both captains were confident their team would win.  But it was to be Mahlanya who proved too strong for St Andrews and won the game 25-0.  The second game wa Mphetseni vs Mahlanya and again even though it was Mahlnanya's second game they came out the winners with a 20-5 score line.  The final pool game and the decider to see who would play Mahlanya in the final saw both Mphetseni and St Andrews play hard running Rugby which saw both nteams defending their try lines and neither side scoring in the first half.  The second half saw Mphetseni run in a quick try from the kick off which stunned the St Andrews supporters into silence.  St Andrews didn't give up and came at Mphetseni and scored a marvellous individual try by their winger which brought the score to 5-5 with only two minutes to play.  It was anyone's game, but Mphetseni proved to be the stronger side and scored a try in the last twenty seconds of the game to win 10-5 and booked their place in the final.  With everything to play for, both teams were eager to score a quick try, but it wasn't to be in the first half of the final. At the half time whistle the teams were locked in a 0-0 score.  The Mahlanya side ran out in the second half brimming with confidence and did the same to Mphetseni as Mphetseni had done to St Andrews and scored a try within the first thirty seconds of the second half and then ran in a further two quick tries to seal the final 15-0 and pick up the winners trophy.Mphetseni PrimarySt Andrews Primary
