Mananga College with the Swazi Choice TOP16 7's trophyFriday saw the Swazi Choice TOP16 U/19's 7's tournament draw to a close with the final being played at the Mavuso Sports Centre in Manzini. Eight schools, one trophy, one winner. All eight schools felt confident that they would be lifting the trophy at the end of the day.
The pool games saw some very good rugby from all of the teams, rugby which one might see at the IRB 7's. The semi finals saw St John Bosco up against Mananga College and Mliba against Dvokolwako. Mananga proved to strong for an inform St John Bosco winning the first semi final St John Bosco 7 v Mananga College 24. The second semi final was a very close run thing with niether Mliba or Dvokolwako scoring in the first half of the game. It was to be Dvokolwako's day coming out winners, Mliba 5 v Dvokolwako 10.
The stage was set for a very exciting final. Mananga came out fighting from the first whistle and took the game to Dvokolwako. Four quick tries in the first five minutes did seem to stun Dvokolwako. half time saw the score at Mananga 27 v Dvokolwako 0. The second half set off at the same pace as the first with Dvokolwako getting a early try. But Mananga proved to good for Dvokolwako coming out eventual winners. Final score Mananga College 39 v Dvokolwako 10.
