Vondo's Wilson Dlamini on the break against The RangersIn the first game of the new 2011 Malayisha Rugby League played today at the Correctional Services Sports Ground in Matsapha, the Vondo's proved too strong for new boys the Rangers. Both clubs arrived full of confidence wanting a win from this the first game of the league. Simanga Magagula president of the Rangers felt the Rangers were ready to take on the more experienced Vondo's.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The game kicked off in perfect conditions for rugby and both teams from the first whistle ran the ball from every position on the field. The very confident Vondo's ran in a try after only one and a hal minutes and then a second try in the nineth minute. The Rangers came straight back at the Vondo's and managed to get ob=ver the try line in the thirteenth minute. It was hard tackling from both sides which stopped a try fest. The halftime whistle saw the Vondo's go in to the changing room 30 - 10 up. Strong words from both coaches at the break saw both teams come out fired up. The Vondo's didn't have it all their own way as the Rangers ran hard at the Vondo's defence but couldn't break the Vondo's defensive line. The final whistle blew with the Vondo's winning 55 - 20.

Rangers coach Simanga Magagula was full of praise for his team. "The whole team didn't give up right to the last second. We need to work on a number of things before the next game, but I'm confident the team will improve as the league goes on.Try time for the RangersVondo's captain Sandile Mhotjwa on the break
